Laminate floors offer these advantages over genuine hardwood floors:
- They cost only a fraction of the price of a hardwood floor because none of the expensive hardwoods are used in laminate floor construction.
- Thanks to a very dense and hard resin-based melamine wear layer, laminate flooring is far more resistant to scuffing, scratching, staining, denting and burning than hardwood.
- They are more moisture-resistant than wooden flooring.
